Hudson, North Carolina (03/14/2008): Day One of the 2008 season opener for
the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Presented by GM
Performance Parts is now complete. The cars and stars of the ASALMS
Challenge Division will now regroup and refocus their efforts on Day Two and
the big 200-lap Feature on Saturday night.

The Tri-County (NC) Motor Speedway in Hudson, North Carolina serves as
hosts for the 2008 ASALMS Challenge Division Season Opener; The Rumble
in the Hills / North Carolina 200. Joining the ASALMS Challenge Division in
the Tar Heel State will be Tri-County Support Divisions of Street Stocks and
Hobby Stocks.

Also just announced, NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Stephen Leicht, the
2005 ASALMS Challenge Division Champion and now racing for Richard
Childress Racing on a part-time basis, for now, in 2008, has filed a late entry
and will race in the Rumble in the Hills / North Carolina 200!

As for the overall Friday Practice Session times and speeds, Jacob Goede, a
two-time Feature Winner in 2007 and running for the 2008 ASALMS
Challenge Division Championship turned in the fastest lap of the day!

The New Germany, Minnesota driver in his Laketown Electric / LEC
Motorsports / Chevrolet Impala, toured the 0.410 Mile Semi-Banked Paved
Oval at a 15.903 which measures out to 92.813 MPH.

Defending ASALMS Challenge Division Champion, Travis Dassow timed in
second fastest with a 15.990 while 2007 Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the
Year, Sean Murphy was third at a 16.101. Peter Cozzolino was fourth quick
with a 16.117 and Bourdow Memorial Rookie runner-up in 2007, Derek Thorn
rounded out the Top Five with a 16.150.

18-year-old Alec Carll (16.200) now driving for Allen-Hock Motorsports was
sixth and was followed by Kris Stump (16.215) and Brian Campbell (16.248).
Two 2008 Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title contenders were
next as Phil Bozell (16.264), and 13-year-old Florida Speedweeks Champion,
Logan Ruffin (16.423) completed the Top 10
